Adhesives & Sealants

The industrial sealants are mainly used for sealing and bonding seams in insulation systems or building components. The professional sealants and adhesives have diverse applications. For example, they are used to bond thermal insulation boards and blankets to a variety of surfaces such as metal, wood, concrete and themselves.

Industrial applications

The adhesives and sealants find their application in various markets, such as the (petro-)chemical industry, construction, utility and HVAC, shipbuilding and offshore. Each industry has its own specific requirements to consider for reliable bonding. For example, in shipping and offshore there are specific requirements regarding fire behaviour and there are industries, such as the food industry, where special hygiene regulations apply, and in some production processes, silicones may not be processed.

Cold / cryogenic installations

In the (petro-)chemical industry, shipbuilding and offshore, industrial adhesives and sealants for cold / cryogenic applications, among others, are used. These cryogenic adhesives offer perfect resistance to moisture, water vapor and other gasses. Due to their flexible properties, temperature fluctuations can also be easily accommodated. Foster 90-66 is one of these cryogenic adhesives and is ideally suited for bonding pipe supports. Foster 82-08 is specifically recommended for use in refrigeration and freezer units.

Ambient temperature installations

For ambient temperature HVAC installations and air ducts, Temati also supplies adhesives and sealants. These professional products are used particularly in construction, HVAC, shipbuilding and offshore applications. Foster 85-18 is ideal for bonding mineral wool insulation to steel and aluminium, as well as to concrete lumber, stone and other masonry in construction. It also remains flexible when repeatedly changing between high and low temperatures without shrinking or cracking.

High temperature installations

Temati also supplies industrial adhesives and sealants for use in hot technical installations. These products for high temperature installations are used in utilities, shipping and various industries. Gasket Sealant is an elastic heat-resistant silicone sealant for use where high temperature resistance up to 300°C is required. It is used in situations where seals or adhesives are required on surfaces in heating devices or where electronic components must be protected from external forces. HT Silicate Adhesive can also be used in high-temperature installations.
